 The Quincy Notre Dame girls' tennis team is usually composed of ten to twenty girls, freshmen through seniors. The team is divided into two squads, varsity and junior varsity. The varsity consists of ten girls. Players challenge one another for the right to play in a varsity position, so changes in the varsity squad do occur throughout the season.

The team travels to four tournaments each year in Springfield, Chatham & Jacksonville and participates in regularly scheduled matches with teams from Quincy High School, Palmyra, Springfield, Peoria, Macomb, Jacksonville and Hannibal. Home matches are played at Reservoir Park. At the IHSA sectional tournament the top six girls tennis players on the Lady Raider squad compete to see who qualifies for the state tournament in Chicago.

Since the tennis team is so small, it always becomes a close knit group. The girls tennis teams has posted three consecutive winning seasons, but QND's girls are always commended for their positive attitudes and good relationships with each other and other teams.

Matches are played at Reservoir Park, 24th and Chestnut, Quincy, IL. Directions:

From Illinois and St. Louis area

• Take Interstate 172 to Quincy's Broadway exit. Turn west on Broadway and go 2 1/2 miles to 24th Street.
• Turn right on 24th Street and go six blocks to the first stop light which is Chestnut Street. The courts will be on the left side of 24th Street, on the northwest corner of 24th and Chestnut.

From Northeast Missouri

• Take Highway 24 east across the Mississippi River. At the first stop light, turn left on 4th Street. Take 4th Street four blocks to Broadway. Turn right on Broadway and go to 24th Street.
• Turn left on 24th Street and go six blocks to the first stop light which is Chestnut Street. The courts will be on the left side of 24th Street, on the northwest corner of 24th and Chestnut.
