Students Named 2011 Illinois All-District

Several Quincy Notre Dame and Parochial Music Organization Choir and Band musicians have been named 2011 Illinois All-District musicians as a result of individual auditions held October 10 at Petersburg-Porta High School. The students were selected from schools in the Mid-West portion of Illinois. The selected students will perform in Western Hall at Western Illinois University on Saturday, November 5. The Elementary, Junior High Band and Chorus will perform at 2:00 p.m. and the High School Band, Chorus, and Orchestra will perform at 4:30 p.m.

The QND Choral students selected to perform in the All-District High School Choir are Sarah Anderson, Chris Mefford, Breanne Meyer, Gabe Nytes, Sarah Ostermiller, and Erin Viar.

The QND Band students selected to perform in the All-District High School Band are Michelle Bingheim, Breanna McCaughey, and Nick Scholz.

The QND Band student selected to perform in the All-District High School Orchestra is Zak Haubrich.

The PMO Choral students selected to perform in the All-District Junior High Chorus are Caleb Altgilbers, Sam Doellman, and Lola VanWinkle.

The PMO Band students selected to perform in the All-District Junior High Band are Alexa Cobian and Ben Scholz.

Two students were also selected for the All-District High School and Junior High School Jazz Bands. Nick Scholz was selected for the High School Jazz Band on drum set. Ben Scholz was selected for the Junior High School Jazz Band on trumpet.
