Oklahoma City was the destination for QND students and staff to volunteer their time to work at a Catholic Heart Workcamp June 27 - July 3. They had the opportunity to help renew and revitalize neighborhoods in Oklahoma City. 60 students and eight chaperones from QND joined groups from Texas, Ohio, Wisconsin and South Dakota in Oklahoma City this summer.
The Catholic Heart Workcamp was founded in 1993 by Steve and Lisa Walker who love young people and God. The Workcamps were established to offer quality service projects and evangelical programs for Catholic young people and their leaders.
Catholic Heart Workcamp Mission is Twofold:
First: To share the love of Jesus and serve the neglected, brokenhearted and marginalized in any way needed. The Catholic HEART Workcamp mission is to revitalize communities and beautify homes for the elderly, disabled and those who cannot afford needed repairs. Our goal is to inspire participants to serve in their local communities.
Second: To empower participants to live as disciples of Christ through serving others. To foster the spiritual growth of each participant through the sacraments, Catholic faith sharing and prayer.
