QND STUDENTS SUPPORT CHRISTMAS COMMUNITY EFFORTS

Quincy Notre Dame High School students have supported a number of community efforts for Christmas giving this season. Members from the Student Council will presented a check to representatives from the American Legion to go to the Toy Drive. The funds raised came from a jean day held at the school. Students also collected more than 150 toys to be distributed for the drive.

The QND students exceeded their goal collecting more than 6,500 food items for the food pantry at Catholic Charities. They started the food drive earlier this month and had a big push this week to have students bring in food items.

Mr. Bill Starkey, QND faculty member, had a project for this Christmas Season as well. His classes collectively raised more than $8,500 to be distributed to assist various local organizations to meet their goals and to help several local families that need extra assistance this year.
