Art Club

Moderator: Mrs. Gray

The Art Club of Quincy Notre Dame is formed in the first two weeks of school. (Students need not be enrolled in an Art Class to be in the Club.) Meetings are held once a month. Students are involved in a variety of projects that may be school or community related. For example, the Art Club has made banners for our school Masses, designed and produced posters for advertising for the Parents and Friends' Club and have sold T-shirts and sweatshirts as fund raising activities. Art Club students have also held mono-print workshops for the various grade school students in the area. A recent project, sponsored by the Quincy Park District, was to create a 18-20 foot sculpture out of soda cans of the "Statue of Liberty" as well as a replica of the Quincy Bay View Bridge at the Quincy Mall.

Students are exposed to various art techniques and styles by visiting the Art Bam in Quincy, Quincy College Art Classes and Art Museums in St. Louis and Chicago.
