After a positive and eventful first semester, QND started up again on Monday, January 4, 2010. I hope that every member of the QND Family experienced a joyous, grace filled Christmas and New Year. Thanks to our student information system, RenWeb, and the great work of Mr. Jeff Agard and all our teachers, students and parents were able to access their quarter one, quarter two, semester exam, and semester grades on December 29th. Paper report cards and earned honor roll ribbons will be dispensed on Thursday, January 7, 2010.
So many people were involved in the four months of meetings and the QND Convocation on December 11th. I want to thank every person who invested time and talent into the process facilitated by the Institute of School and Parish Development. I also want to thank the Tracy Family Foundation for funding this most important process. The Convocation determined the areas for implementation by general vote. You will be receiving more information as we move into the implementation process and long range planning.
This semester will be filled with great events: academic classes, religious experiences, retreats, concerts, the QND Spring Show, athletic contests, and numerous club and organization meetings. We have a number of new students entering QND second semester. We know that these new members of the QND Family will be welcomed by staff, students, parents, and stepparents.
Mrs. Shepard and I have worked diligently on upgrading the dress code at QND first semester. We ask you, parents, stepparents, and guardians to support the dress code at QND. We have received numerous compliments from outsiders, alumni, and present parents/stepparents/guardians. Yes, there were some “growing pains” with the new rules, but every student now understands what is expected regarding professional and modest dress. Thank you for your support and let’s keep things rolling along second semester.
