Fourth Annual “Everybody Wins” Mega Raffle Awarding $165,000 in Cash & Prizes

Mega Raffle tickets were sold through the Quincy Catholic Elementary Schools and Quincy Notre Dame families, at the school offices and QND Foundation office and were available to purchase online.

There were 4,000 tickets sold at a first come first serve basis. One hundred and thirteen prizes were awarded with a total value of $165,000. Each ticket was sold for $100. With each $100 purchase, $10 will be donated back to one or more of the following schools: Blessed Sacrament, St. Dominic, St. Francis, St. Peter Elementary Schools or Quincy Notre Dame High School, at the discretion of the ticket buyer.

QND Foundation executive director, Kurt Stuckman, discusses the importance of this raffle. “Supporters of Catholic education have really advocated this fundraiser. The ‘Everybody Wins’ Mega Raffle has continued to have a deep impact on financial assistance and technology for students Pre K-12th grade,” said Stuckman.

New for 2014, two additional Super Early Bird prizes have been added. First prize is $1,500 cash, second prize is $750 cash and third prize if $500 cash. All tickets sold between March 19 and April 16 will be eligible for these three Super Early Bird Drawings. The Super Early Bird drawings will be announced on Friday, May 2.

There will also be 10 Early Bird drawings. Those prizes include five “Winning Wednesday” drawings that will award $100 to five winners, on May 7, 8, 14, 21, 28 and June 4. There will also be five “Fantastic Friday” drawings that will award $500 to one winner on May 9, 16, 23, 30 and June 6. All Super Early Bird and Early Bird drawings will be broadcast live on Y-101 between 7:40 a.m. and 8:20 a.m.

The remaining 80 prizes will be awarded at the “Everybody Wins” Mega Raffle Mega Event on Saturday, June 7. The Mega Event will start at 5 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus in Quincy. The drawings will begin at 6:30 p.m. and include the Third Place prize of $10,000 in cash, Second Place prize of the winner’s choice of either a 2014 Toyota RAV4 or a 2014 Toyota Camry, and the Grand Prize winner will receive $100,000 cash. Winners need not be present to win.

“People love the idea that they have a 1 in 4,000 chance of winning one of the top three prizes, and a 1 in 35 chance of winning at least $100. It’s hard to beat those odds!” said Paul Rittof, executive director of the QCES Foundation. “The energy and enthusiasm of our more than 900 Catholic school families and other Catholic school supporters who help sell the 4,000 tickets have been the reason for the Mega Raffle’s success these past three years, and we’re confident they will come through for us again this year,” added Rittof. “We are grateful that they rally around this important fundraising endeavor for both the QCES and QND Foundations.”
