News from the Class of 2002

  • Jason May married Danielle Mitchell July 5, 2006, Jason is in the Navy, they reside in San Diego.
  • Jason Weber and Debbie Standley married on Aug. 5, 2006.
  • Matt Doellman received a B.S. in Nursing at Truman State University on May 13, 2006 & was commissioned a second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army on Aug. 11, 2006.
  • Andrew Mays graduated from Marquette University & will be attending law school at Marquette.

Carl Landrum, 87, passed away Jan. 4, 2003. Carl was director of bands at Notre Dame and Christian Brothers High Schools 1943 to 1968, and director of the Quincy Park Band 1948-1993.

Marilyn (Williams) Backe '64 and Penny (Schmitt) Koch '64 received the 2001 "Carl Landrum - Notre Dame Band Alumni Award" during the QND/PMO Bands Christmas Concert on Dec. 5, 2001. They are pictured here with Carl.
  • Sister Andree Fries CPPS '59, recipient of the 1996 "Carl Landrum Notre Dame Band Alumni Award", is executive director of the National Religious Retirement Office, Washington, D.C. Sister Andree was awarded an honorary Doctor of Ministry degree by Quincy University in May of 2002.
  • Scott Rollison '91, is an assistant stage manager on Broadway. He has been working in the New York theater industry since graduating from Millikin University in 1996. Scott completed an internship at New Yrok's prestigious Juilliard School and has worked on "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer," "Waiting in the Wings," "Rent," "Annie Get Your Gun," and "The Sound of Music."
  • Jeanette Bohne '54 writes that she played under Carl Landrum's baton from 1950-53. Worked "like a dog" but enjoyed each and every minute. Also remembers the sign above the band room door "TUNE UP - SIT UP - SHUT UP". "Those were the Good Ole Days".
  • Shaun Baker '93, is a 2000 graduate of Berklee College of Music, Boston, MA, with a degree in Music Performance, specializing in percussion. Shaun is currently playing in Nashville.
  • Kim Davis, class of 2000, is a student at Southwest Texas State University majoring in Secondary Education, specializing in Mathematics.
  • Dr. Robert Damm '82, is Assistant Professor of Music Education at Mississippi State University.
  • QND Band Director, Pam Potter, ND class of '61, played for an audience with Pope John Paul II in Rome as a member of the Community Band of America on 10/25/2000.
