Quincy Notre Dame High School has been working diligently the past few years to assess its capital needs and develop a plan for the campus. A comprehensive capital improvement plan focused on growth has been drafted. The first capital improvement starting in May is the first step of a plan which entails several projects that together will enhance and expand the QND campus. A critical step of this process is a feasibility study that will be conducted in September 2014 and coordinated by consulting firm Partners in Mission.
Quincy Notre Dame High School has entered into an agreement with Advance Physical Therapy to transform the existing athletic field through the installation of a synthetic playing surface. As a result, beginning with fall sports for the 2014-15 school year, the football and soccer playing surface will be referred to as Advance Physical Therapy Field for the next 10 years. Many donors have played a significant role in turning this project into a reality. This project will provide a consistent and safe playing surface for years to come. It represents progress at Quincy Notre Dame and would not have been possible without the generosity of the Quincy Notre Dame family.
“This field will touch each student here at QND whether it is through physical education classes, athletic events, or used by the QND Band, cheerleaders and pom pon squad,” states QND Principal Mark McDowell. “I work closely with the QND Foundation to manage and grow the resources in support of the school. We assess the needs of Quincy Notre Dame and develop ways in which these needs can be addressed by advancing the institution. Collectively, our goal is to ensure that our students and families can remain confident in our ability to provide a top quality Catholic education.”
Construction will start the first week of May with an anticipated completion date of early August. The field will include a new playing surface, football and soccer goal posts, time clocks, fencing, catch nets, and scoreboard. Quincy Notre Dame has contracted with ATG Sports for the field’s installation.
