Quincy Notre Dame Foundation received a bequest from the estate of Arlene T. Middendorf in excess of $340,000 to support the Foundation’s endowment. The QND Foundation operates to financially support Quincy Notre Dame High School by bridging the gap of what it costs to educate a student and what is charged for tuition. Funding also provides financial assistance to students.
“We are tremendously blessed that Arlene made a lasting gift to Quincy Notre Dame. We are indebted to the Middendorf family for the generosity shown investing in the future of QND,” stated Kurt Stuckman, executive director of the QND Foundation. “Gifts like these are transformational and enable QND to be proactive for the benefit of our students.”
Middendorf was born on February 22, 1928, in Quincy and was the daughter of Frank and Leon (Meyer) Middendorf. She attended and graduated from St. Francis Solanus Grade School, Notre Dame High School, and St. Louis University.

She passed away on March 4, 2012, and was survived by her brother, Carl, his wife, Rita, sister-in-law, Mary Ann Middendorf, and many other devoted family members.
