2020 Mega Raffle is Canceled

The “Everybody Wins” Mega Raffle has been a tremendous fundraising mechanism tool to support both the Quincy Catholic Elementary Schools (QCES) and the Quincy Notre Dame (QND) Foundation for the past nine years. During that time, we have raised nearly $1.8M to support our Catholic school families with tuition assistance, technology upgrades, and to better secure the future of each foundation and our five Catholic schools. Likewise, through the $10 Ticket Give-Back Program we have been able to give more than $357,000 back to our five Catholic schools.

With regard to the impact of Covid-19 and all of our schools experiencing an extended shutdown as mandated by Governor Pritzker, the economic impact on our country and all of us as individuals and families, we have determined it is in the best interest of our local community to cancel the 10th Anniversary of the “Everybody Wins” Mega Raffle. Our plan is to roll out the celebratory changes in honor of our 10th Anniversary to the 2021 “Everybody Wins” Mega Raffle, which will kick-off in March 2021.

These are uncertain and challenging times for our country and our community in terms of our physical, emotional, and financial health and well-being. The QCES and QND Foundations encourage those who would have otherwise purchased a Mega Raffle ticket, as well as others who are capable to do so, to donate to local non-profit social service organizations, such as area food pantries and Catholic Charities, that will particularly help those members of our community who will be adversely affected financially by the state-mandated measures that have been implemented to curtail the spread of Covid-19. Please remember to continue supporting your parish. While there will be no public Masses at our parish churches for the near future, the parishes continue to have financial obligations they must meet, including payroll for their parish and school staffs.

We very much appreciate your understanding and we hope you will focus on the most important thing we can at this time, which is modifying our social behavior and conducting our daily life in a manner that promotes the safety, health and well-being of each and every person in our community. While we are disappointed we cannot celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the “Everybody Wins” Mega Raffle at this time, we are tremendously excited for the raffle to get back going again in March 2021. We thank you, again, for your support of the previous nine “Everybody Wins” Mega Raffles, and we look forward to your support and the success of future Mega Raffles, as we all plan for the future success of Catholic education in Quincy. God Bless!

Sincerely,

Paul R. Rittof, Ed.D. – Executive Director QCES Foundation
