Quincy Notre Dame Foundation Receives $500,000 Estate Gift

November 20, 2025 – The Quincy Notre Dame Foundation has received a generous $500,000 bequest from the estate of B.T. “Ted” Kemner, a 1947 graduate of Notre Dame High School. This significant gift will be allocated in two distinct ways. Half of the gift will be directed to the Ted Kemner Scholarship, managed by the QND Foundation. This scholarship aims to support a current QND student who demonstrates talent and potential in art and design. Additionally, it will recognize a student who has shown meaningful growth in their faith journey.

The additional $250,000 will be designated for future capital improvements on the Quincy Notre Dame campus. The QND Foundation plays a vital role in supporting Quincy Notre Dame High School by helping to cover the difference between actual educational costs and tuition. It also provides essential financial assistance to students in need.

“Ted was a close friend who wholeheartedly believed in the mission and vision of Quincy Notre Dame. Even after his passing, Ted is making a difference that will last in perpetuity,” stated Kurt Stuckman, executive director of the QND Foundation. “Ted will be remembered for his kindness, his genuine curiosity of learning and wanting to make a difference for the next generation.”

“Gifts like these are truly transformational and will allow us to continue to plan for the future of Quincy Notre Dame. We are tremendously grateful to Ted for the positive impact this gift and his legacy will have on the future of QND and its students.”
