Kassidy (Gengenbacher) Metcalfe’s on-court success is among the best of any player in any sport in Quincy Notre Dame history. Her success on the diamond was Hall of Fame worthy, too.

During a four-year varsity career with the QND girls basketball program, Metcalfe helped the Raiders compile a 124-5 record with a state runner-up finish as a freshman and three consecutive state championships thereafter. As a senior during the 2012-13 season, Metcalfe helped the Raiders finish 30-0 and win the Class 3A state title as she averaged 17.7 points and shot 44 percent from 3-point range with 55 made treys.

One of the best pure shooters in program history, Metcalfe finished her career with 1,784 points, which ranks fourth all-time. She graduated as the all-time leading 3-point shooter with 155 made treys, which currently ranks fourth all-time, and dished out 212 assists to go along with 290 steals.

She was named a first-team all-state guard by the Associated Press and a second-team all-stater by the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association as a senior.

Metcalfe became a three-year starter at Lindenwood University, where she scored 1,416 career points and made 172 career 3-pointers, which was a program record. She averaged 15.7 points per game as a freshman, 18.4 points as a sophomore and 17 points and 4.3 rebounds as a junior. She was the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Freshman of the Year in 2014 and a three-time All-MIAA selection, earning second-team honors as a freshman and sophomore and honorable mention as a senior.

She played her final season at Point Loma University, where she averaged 12.9 points and 4.8 rebounds while making 34 3-pointers and was a third-team All-PacWest Conference honoree.

Metcalfe also starred for the QND softball team, earning all-state honors three times from the Illinois Coaches Association. She was a second-team all-state shortstop as a sophomore and a third-team all-state pick as a junior and senior. She finished her career with 145 hits, 108 RBIs, 16 home runs and a .392 batting average.

A Note of Thanks

I’m incredibly honored to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.  My time at QND was filled with love, support, and unforgettable memories.  I’m grateful to my family, coaches, teammates, and the entire school community for helping shape not only my basketball journey, but the person I’ve become. QND was truly the perfect place to grow.  I feel especially blessed to share this moment with my husband and our four children. Thank you for this special recognition as it means the world to me.
