QND Foundation Receives $100,000 Estate Gift

April 1, 2021 – The Quincy Notre Dame Foundation received a substantial bequest from the estate of Martha Habben. This $100,000 gift from the estate will be invested in the endowment for Quincy Notre Dame High School. Dividends from the principal will compound and continue to build the endowment. The QND Foundation operates to financially support Quincy Notre Dame High School by bridging the gap of what it costs to educate a student and what is charged for tuition. Funding also provides financial assistance to students.

“While we did not have a personal relationship with the Habbens, we do know how important the Catholic faith was in their lives,” stated Kurt Stuckman, executive director of the QND Foundation. “It is our understanding that the Habbens were lifelong residents and farmers in rural Carthage, Ill.”

“Gifts like these are transformational and will allow us to continue to plan for the future of Quincy Notre Dame. We are tremendously grateful to the Habben family for the positive impact this gift and their legacy will have on the future of QND and its students,” Stuckman continued.

For over 150 years, Quincy Notre Dame, as a Catholic co-educational school, seeks to build a community of learners among its faculty, staff, students and parents. Quincy Notre Dame fosters an environment of consideration and acceptance, while challenging its members to develop their potential through strong educational and extra-curricular programs.  Quincy Notre Dame strives to prepare its students to assume vital Christian roles in a constantly changing world.
