Inducted 2021. When the discussion of the best boys basketball teams in school history is held, the 2003-04 team is on a very short list.
Inducted 2021. Wayne Steinkamp offers to help with whatever needs the wrestling program needed, and now more than 30 years later, he’s still giving his time.
Brian Morrell ’05
Inducted 2021. It would be difficult to find a pitcher who put up better statistics than Brian Morrell did during his junior and senior seasons in 2004 and 2005.
Kyle Awerkamp ’00
Inducted 2021. Kyle Awerkamp was a member of two state championship teams, a third-place team and a fourth-place team.
Erin (Moulton) Kimm ’01
Inducted 2021. The Quincy Notre Dame softball program has had many outstanding pitchers, but none of them struck out more hitters than Erin (Moulton) Kimm.
Joe Terwelp ’04
Inducted 2021. Joe Terwelp enjoyed one of the greatest careers of any basketball player in QND history, and he also was an accomplished baseball player, but no Raider ever had a weekend at the state basketball tournament like he did in 2004.
2010 Girls Soccer Team
Inducted 2020. The 2010 girls soccer team started a run of dominance that hasn’t been matched in the state, winning the first of five Class 1A state championships in the decade.
1985 Baseball Team
Inducted 2020. The 1985 boys baseball team is one of only three teams in school history to reach the semifinals in the state tournament, but because no third or fourth place trophies were given at the time, they no hardware to show for their excellence.
Inducted 2020. “I don’t know in my 39 years that I ever came across anyone who was so involved in so many areas of the school,” said former QND Principal Ray Heilmann. “Some people just do their job. Rich was the type of person who if he saw something, he worked on it. His day would start at 6:30 and it often didn’t end until 12 at night, and he never complained.”
Dan Boltz ’55
Inducted 2020. Boltz was one of the top basketball players for Quincy Notre Dame during the 1950s when the Raiders strung together nine consecutive winning seasons.
Bobby Ridder ’04
Inducted 2020. Excelling in one sport is great, and excelling in two sports is exceptional. Ridder was a three-time all-sectional selection for the boys soccer team and was named all-state in 2003. Ridder qualified for the state tennis tournament in doubles in three out of four years, and he won every doubles tournament during his senior year.
