Virgil Niewohner

Year Inducted:

virgil-niewohnerInducted 1992.  Coordinated Ticket Program Since 1961.

Virgil Niewohner has been donating his services as a ticket seller, usher, and an all around Jack of All Trades to Quincy Notre Dame for well over a quarter of a century.

Virgil credits Art Berglind for getting him started, volunteering first as a ticket seller at Quincy College and then Notre Dame. He has run the entire ticket program at Notre Dame and has been at almost every football, soccer and basketball game since he began back in 1961. Virgil has been in charge and coordinated the regional basketball ticket program. He has also donated his time behind the scenes helping out on appreciation dinners and sports banquets. Virgil has seen those sometimes roudy grade school students grow up and become die hard QND supporters and season ticket holders. His efforts could never be measured in monetary value and we at QND bestow this honor on him as partial payment for his long and outstanding commitment to QND.

As Virgil was once quoted – “If the Good Lord is willing, I hope to keep doing my volunteer work until He calls.” So do we, Virgil!
